A 60-years-old woman in Sunderland was the first person in the city who become the victim of deadly coronavirus.
Coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, spread across the globe as the death toll rises to 4,000. In the UK the confirmed cases of coronavirus were 319 which reached 373 in one day.
The woman’s son was heartbroken and said that her mother was healthy and fit the diagnose is a shock. COVID-19 mostly attacks the elderly and sick people.
The woman’s son said that she was fine and has no illness except her knees pain. He said that she had a cold and chest infection but when she has breathing problems so we took her to hospital and she was diagnosed with the virus.
This news shocked the family as the elderly lady didn’t leave her house and no one knows where she got the virus. She is currently in South Tyneside District Hospital.
Authorities said that they are trying their best to prevent the virus from spreading.
The best way anyone can protect themselves and others from the virus is to wash their hands thoroughly and often with soap and water, or use a hand sanitizer, and to cough or sneeze into a tissue, bin it and wash their hands.
The woman’s son said that the machines are keeping her alive as her condition is worst. And he wished that her mother is not going to be the next one to die.
