All-women team of scientists is working to make the vaccine for deadly coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, in Maryland.
Experts around the world are trying to develop the vaccine for COVID-19 as the death toll rises to 3000 around the globe.
The women team of scientists is working in the Novavax vaccine lab in Gaithersburg. They are handling every bottle, flask, and tool with precision and care.
Nita Patel is a director for vaccine development and antibody discovery at Novavax. She leads the female team who is working to create a viable vaccine for COVID-19.
She said: “I think in science, it’s more common for women to be in the lab than the guys.”
Novavax is currently in the second phase of development. They are currently testing the vaccine on animals. If things go as planned, they will test the vaccine on humans.
