A south-Korean female flight attendant has tested positive for novel coronavirus. It is reported that the female flight attendant spent some time in Los Angeles before returning to Seoul.
South Korea’s center for disease control revealed that a female flight attendant who serviced a February 15 flight from Tel Aviv to Seoul has tested positive for the virus.
She worked on two flights KE017 and KE012 which traveled to and from Los Angeles International Airport on February 19 and 20. Korean Air has not confirmed the news yet.
Los Angeles County health officials said that they are aware of the news but they are waiting for US centers for disease control confirmation.
Korean Air announced that it is closing its operations center at Incheon Airport, the largest airport in South Korea located in the Seoul area, to disinfect the premises.
Airlines state: “Korean Air flight attendants are recommended to wear masks and plastic gloves on all routes. The airline is loading each flight with adequate equipment in preparation for any possible infection onboard.”
