Liza Sejkora, the principal of Camas School has submitted her resignation because she received threats over a Facebook post.
The high school Principal Dr. Sejkora shared a post on Facebook on the day of Kobe Bryant’s death. She wrote: “Not gonna lie. Seems to me that karma caught up with a rapist today.”
After her post, she received a backlash from students and the Washington community. She was forced to apologize. She later removed the post and apologized in a written statement.
Camas School District Superintendent Jeff Snell announced her resignation in a press conference.
He said in a video: “I have accepted Dr. Sejkora’s resignation as principal of Camas High School. Losing a principal during the school year in this way is obviously very difficult. I ask that you rally around Camas High. Our students and staff did not ask to be put in this situation. They deserve the space to move forward.”
Sejkora announced her resignation and said that “students and staff deserve to have a learning environment free of disruption.”
Kobe Bryant who was died in a helicopter crash along with her daughter Gianna was accused in 2003 of raping an employee. Later the charges were dropped on the request of the accuser.
