Woman posed as a teenage boy to sexually assault up to 50 girls

21-year old woman Gemma Watts disguised herself as a 16-year old boy to lure young girls into a relationship.

Gemma Watts, from Enfield, north London, traveled the country by train to meet the youngsters. Young girls believed they were in a relationship with a boy close to their own age.

She used WhatsApp, snapchat and text messages to communicate with the girls. Gemma has long hair which she tied in a bun. Watts wears a baseball cap.

Watts pledged guilty for posing as a teenage boy to sexually groom young girls. She was imprisoned for eight years today at Winchester Crown Court.

The charges she declared liable relate to four girls, including a 13-year-old from Hampshire and two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old from Surrey, Plymouth, and the West Midlands.

One of the victims said that when she came to know about Watt’s true identity her heart almost exploded. Once, Watts sexually attacked the girl in her mother’s bedroom.

She targets young girls by liking their pictures on social media first.

Prosecutor Barnaby Shaw said: “The defendant practiced a persistent course of deceit on four young teenage girls and indeed members of their family. These victims were not agreeing to sexual activity because they were deceived into thinking that Gemma Watts was a boy.”
