After Serena got defeated in the Australian Open on Friday, she said that she wanted to punch a wall.
Wang Qiang beat Serena Williams by 6-4, 6-7, 2-7, 7-5 and her quest for a record-equaling 24th Grand slam title was brought to an end.
Qiang beat Serena in three sets and it was the first time in Qiang’s career that she advanced to the fourth round of the tournament. Qiang’s victory is a memorable one. Serena currently has 23 Grand Slam titles while Margret court has 24.
Reporters asked Serena if her defeat still stings like the way it used to and she said: “I’m a better actress as I always say, now. I’m no happier than I was 10 years ago. But I just have to pretend like I don’t want to punch the wall, but in reality, I do.”
Williams while describing her performance continued: “She served well, you know. I didn’t return like Serena. Honestly, if we were just honest with ourselves, it’s all on my shoulders. I lost that match. It is what it is.”
“It’s not about the tournament, it’s just like I can’t play like that. Like literally I can’t do that.
