SAG Awards: 'Parasite' wins top prize at 26th Screen Actor Guild Award

South Korean thriller film ‘Parasite’ breaks records by becoming the first foreign films to win the Screen Actors Guild. The parasite wins the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture Best Ensemble.

Five members of the cast including Song Kang Ho, Lee Sun Kyun, Choi Woo Shik, Park So Dam, and Chang Hyae Jin were on the stage to receive the award. While the director of Parasite Bong Joon Ho remained seated and applauding cast members.

Cast member Song Kang Ho said through an interpreter: “I’m so honored to receive this award in front of such amazing actors that I admire. I will never forget this beautiful night.”

The parasite has been winning awards this season. It already won the Palme d’Or and the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film.

Parasite also became the first South Korean made film to be nominated for Best Picture for the Oscars. South Korean film ‘parasite’ is also nominated for Best Director, Best Foreign Film, Best Original Screenplay, Best Production Design, and Best Film Editing.
