South Korean Police reportedly investigating SBS after Red Velvet’s Wendy stage accident. Last year during the rehearsals for the SBS Gayo Daejon, Wendy suffered pelvis, facial and wrist injuries.
She fell from the stage during rehearsals. It is reported that staff instructed Wendy to head towards a stage. But the stairs that should have led her down to stage were missing. There were no stage markers for her to see in the dark. That is why she fell fro mm the stage.
Red Velvet fans ReVeluv were upset after this incident. They were demanding an official apology from SBS. Previously, fans started a trend on Twitter #ReleaseApologySBSGayo to seek justice for Wendy.
Now the Korean police are investigating those responsible for the accident. SBS’s negligence caused grievous bodily harm to Wendy.
According to the team, the Guro District Office is examining whether SBS violated the “Disaster Preparedness Plan” they were mandated to submit to the District Office.
In Korea, “Bodily Injury by Negligence” is a crime punishable by up to 30 days in prison or a heavy fine.
