Peppa Pig’s voice actress Harley Bird has announced that she decides to quit the show. The 18-year old actress will be replaced by 9-year-old Amelie Bea Smith, who will appear in English-speaking episodes of the show from February.
Harley said: “Becoming the voice of Peppa at the age of five was the start of an incredible journey. I’ll never forget my time on the show.”
She added: “The people that work on Peppa Pig have become like a family to me and they’ve given me some unforgettable memories. I wish Amelie the best of luck in the role and am looking forward to starting the next chapter in my life.”
Harley said that she had been doing Peppa for so long and she quit after 13 years. She started this role when she was just 5 years old.
Harley is the most successful teenage voiceover artist in Britain right now. She easily earns £1,000 an hour. She is also difficult to replace because she’s mature enough to be a great actress.
When she first auditioned for the role she is too young to read the script.
