Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will no longer use their HRH titles. They will not receive public funds for royal duties as announced by Buckingham Palace.
Buckingham Palace stated that the couple will stop carrying out their royal duties from spring. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will repay the taxpayers’ millions spent on their Cottage.
Queen released a statement after the talk with the couple. Queen said: “Many months of conversations and more recent discussions we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson & his family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved members of my family.”
In a separate statement, Buckingham Palace said: ” The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.”
People took to social media to show their support or condemnation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Buckingham Palace said “the duke and duchess understood they were required to withdraw from royal duties, including official military appointments. While they can no longer formally represent the Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to support the values of Her Majesty.”
The statement added they will continue to maintain their private businesses and associations.
