Meesha Shafi, a renowned singer of Pakistan approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday over the dismissal of her petition in LHC. The singer questioned the decision of Punjab governor and Provincial ombudsperson.
Meesha mentioned the name of Ali Zafar, Punjab governor, and women ombudsperson in her petition as an answerer and requested the SC to dismiss the decision of LHC.
Previously, Punjab’s ombudsperson for the protection of women against harassment at the workplace had discarded the sexual harassment complaint of Meesha Shafi against Ali Zafar. In July last year, Punjab governor justified the decision of ombudsperson by saying that there was no employee-employer relationship between Ali and Meesha.
Similarly, LHC declared in the verdict that the decision of Meesha’s complaint by ombudsperson is right and there is no legal error in the decision.
Meesha’s legal team had argued that the decision of both Punjab governor and ombudsperson is illegal.
