At NewYork premiere of Little Women, Emma compared Taylor’s struggle for the ownership of her music to Little women’s Jo for the copyright battle of her novel.
Emma said: “It’s about believing in yourself and knowing your worth and owning your worth. Right now, the Taylor Swift situation is a great example. You know, you’re young and talented and someone wants to buy your work, but having ownership at the end of the day is super important because you don’t know what someone’s going to decide to do with that.”
Emma compared the ownership battle with the game of monopoly. She said: ” I think people undervalue ownership.”
“You know when you play Monopoly. You have a decision and you want to own something or get cash fast. The way to win Monopoly, everyone, is to own stuff. I’m just saying,” she added.
In November, Taylor had a fight with Big Machine’s Scooter Braun for her music ownership. She said that the company blocking her from performing her old music in American Music Award. Later the company declared that they have no issue if she performs her songs.
