American-south African actress Charlie Theron discussed her daughter’s story and expressed her grief over people using the wrong pronouns for her daughter Jackson.
44-year old actress raising her first transgender daughter Jackson as a girl. The actress said that her daughter Jackson who is now seven years old feels sad when she hears someone addressing her with the wrong pronoun.
Bombshell actress said: “I feel like as her mother, for me, it was important to let the world know that I would appreciate it if they would use the right pronouns for her. It became harder for us the older she got that people were still writing about her in the wrong pronouns, and also I was still talking about her in the press using the wrong pronoun.”
Charlie Theron said that sometimes she too made mistakes when she addressed her daughter but she said that her daughter feels sad as she gets older when people use wrong pronouns to address her.
She added: “I don’t want to be that mom, and that was really why I said what I said a while back.”
Actress when adopted her second daughter August said that until she became three years old she thought that she too is a boy but when she was three years old she told her mum that she was not a boy.
She said: “I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive. They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide.”
