More than 100 students have been injured in AMU where students were holding anti-citizenship protests. Police have charged baton and fired tear gas on students at Aligarh Muslim University.
India’s largest minority institute, AMU, where thousands of students gathered to protest against citizenship law at the main entrance of the university.
New citizenship law is a new agenda of Modi’s government to marginalize India’s 200 million Muslims.
The administration announced to close the university till January 5. Students are not safe at university. Clashes at AMU started after the protest in Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia students protest against the amendment if new citizenship law. Police entered the university and charged baton and fired tear gas on students.
A female student of Jamia Islamia told media that police entered in their hostels and started beating them with sticks. Many students were injured.
At AMU situation was very critical, police beat students with sticks. Female students were not safe. Videos and pictures floating on social media showed a different picture, reveal a brutal crackdown by police and plainclothes individuals, said to be activists of the right-wing RSS. They beat female students at the university.
