JUI-F Azadi march comes under criticism for their decision. JUI-F leadership had decided not to invite women in March. They had informed other opposition parties about this incident. JUI-F MPA Naeema Kishwar tweeted that our women were not allowed to attend the March.

An activist at JUI-F Azad march stopped female reporters from coverage. Hum news host Shiffa Z. Yousafzai tweeted about the Azadi march coverage she said: “What we saw today there at Azadi March being surrounded by the crowd, their reactions, the slogans they chanted against me (women) were pretty ugly.”

She further wrote: “Went to the ground, only men could be seen in the ground for yards and yards. It felt very awkward and uncomfortable to be stared at some kind of alien still my team went ahead with me covering the march. So we went towards the ground.”

PTI member Asad Umar also condemn this decision of JUI-F. He said: “One thing is clear from what has been seen of the opposition march so far… Their vision of Pakistan is one where women have no place in the public space.”

Special adviser to PM Imran khan for information and broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan also tweeted about this matter.
