Queen Maxima of the Netherland arrived in Pakistan on Monday (today) morning. She will stay in Pakistan for three days as the United Nations Secretary-General’s special advocate for inclusive finance and development (UNSGSA). Queen maxima had earlier visited Pakistan in February 2016.
Queen and 6 member delegation were welcomed in Islamabad by the official of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry and Dutch embassy.
On Monday she chaired a meeting in Islamabad where she discussed the importance of technology to boost financial sectors.
Pakistan has made advancements with regards to financial inclusion but there is still more that needs to be done,” Queen Máxima said.
During her visit, she will meet PM Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi. She will meet with many stakeholders of the public and private sectors. Inclusive finance and development is the main priority of Pakistan’s government.
Queen Maxima will also attend the event of state Bank of Pakistan in which there is a launch of a micropayment gateway.
