Fourth death anniversary of Pakistan’s female pilot Marium Mukhtiar Shaheed being observed on Sunday(today). She was the first female pilot who sacrifices her life in the duty and attains Shahadat. Marium was born on 18 May 1992. She belongs to the family having an army background. Her father Mukhtiar Ahmed Sheikh was a former lieutenant. He urged her daughter to join armed forces. She joined the PAF in 2011.
She attained Shahadat when her jet crashed at the Kandian area in Bhakra near Mianwali on 24 November 2015. She was on her training with her trainer on that day when a defect developed in her plane and pilot able to divert the jet from the inhabitants to avert any damage to inhabitants.
Pakistan’s government awarded her with Tamgha-e- Basalat (Medal of the good act).
Punjab CM Usman Buzdar said that she is the brave and brilliant daughter of the country and she is a ray of hope for a nation.
