Australian cricket ban the cricketer Emily Smith for one year under cricket’s anti-corruption code on Monday. She was banned because of sharing her team line up on Instagram hour before it was posted by cricket officials.
Nine months of the strict sentence was deferred, but the 3-month ban still rules the 24-year-old out of cricket for the rest of the cricket’s season. Wicketkeeper will not be able to play for the rest of the three months in any of WBBL and WNCL.
On Nov 2 match between hurricanes & Sydney thunder was going to happen and a few hours before officials’ permission cricketer Emily shared a picture of her team line up on her social media account. Although the match was not started because of rain she was banned because she commits a crime.
Cricket Australia´s code forbids “revealing inside data to any person where the member knew or might fairly have known that such revelation might lead to the data being used in relation to gambling in relation to any match or incident”.
Sean Carroll said that she has no intention to do this activity but the player must aware of her crimes and there are no excuses for revealing internal data.
