Selena Gomez opens up about how her family immigrated to US

Selena Gomez the known American singer has stepped forward and shared some details regarding the current immigration issue, she shared her own family struggles.

Selena shared the details about her family history in a magazine that how her family managed to come to the US while crossing the boarders from Mexico.

The singer said “ that her aunt in 1970 crossed the border while hiding in the back of a truck from Mexico to the US. Her grandparents followed the steps of her aunt and after some time her own father was born in Texas”.

She further added “ thanks to my family’s courage and the sacrifices they made I was born a US citizen in 1992. She told that over these past 40 years her family members have been trying really hard just to attain the united states membership”.

Selena said that she knows that undocumented migration is an issue and that she thinks about it every single day, she says that she never forget the blessing she has to be born in this country and it’s all because of her family and the grace of circumstances”.

But when I see news about immigration making headlines or on social media, I feel very afraid for those people who are in a similar situation right now and I also feel afraid for my own country.

She continued that she doesn’t claim to be an expert, she says she’s neither a politician nor a doctor and that she doesn’t work in the system at all, she further says that she understands that the system is flawed and that rules and regulations are needed, nut she says we should never forget that our country was formed as a result of people coming from other countries”

“It is that time we listen to people who lives are been affected by the immigration policies. It’s time to know the individuals who’re complex stories have been reduced to basic headlines.” Said the singer

The singer has also operated on a documented film that highlighted the struggles of families who are affected by immigration.
