Parveen Rehman Murder: Supreme court ordered new JIT constitution

The federal government issued a command for another JIT to investigate the murder of Parveen Rehman. She was the director of OPR. In March 2013 near the Banaras flyover in Orangi town she was shot dead by four men.

Parveen was a social activist and she works against the water and land gang. She was born in 1957 in Dhaka. She was very keen to work on sanitation problems. She was a kind and soft-hearted lady and she helps everyone in need. She had been receiving life threats, but this had not stopped her from helping others. She documented everything about the land which was illegally snatched. She never hesitated to help anyone or to visit those places where her life was in danger.

FIA issued a notice of the foundation of the new JIT under the agency’s counter-terrorism wing director. In the new announcement, the decision of the new JIT issued because the supreme court is not satisfied with the previous inquiry related to this case. The meeting of the new JIT will be held on October 8, at 9 pm in Karachi.

In the meeting, new JIT goes through all the pieces of evidence and eyewitnesses. Justice Umar Atta Bandial who is the judge of the apex court said that mafia attacked those who work for the benefits for other people. Furthermore, he said that LEAs appear helpless before water & land mafia.

Police had detained the prime suspects of this case on May 7, 2016. JIT for this case was formed in February 2018 but their performance is unsatisfactory that’s why the decision of new JIT formation has issued.
