First Indian woman GS Lakshmi appointed as ICC official

 ICC has appointed first woman, GS Lakshmi, India’s former Cricketer and referee, as a match official for ICC men’s T20 World cup. The world cup will be be held in the UAE and from October 18 to November 2.

She Will serve along with other officials for a match featuring on the opening day. Adrian Griffith, senior Manager of ICC said we have done our best to put this team together and further he said that he is confident that the team will do the finest job and he wished them all the best.

He said that they are committed to appointed finest officials available for any match in the tournament and they did their best job putting this team together. He further said that this tournament is an important one with six teams in the line to joining the next T20 world cup and he is confident that the referees will do their fine job

On the other hand, Lakshmi said that it is an Honour for her to be chosen in the international panel by ICC. She said she hopes to put her experience to good use on the international platform.

Moreover, she thanked ICC and other officials at the BCCI, her family her colleagues and everyone else who have supported her all the time. And said she hopes that she can live up to everyone’s expectations and do her job at the best of her ability
