Dr. Sania Nishtar receives an honorary doctorate in science from King’s College London

Pakistani cardiologist Dr. Sania Nishtar got the Doctor of Science degree from Kings College, London. She is a graduate of king’s college and has also completed her Ph.D. degree from king’s college, London.

The degree-awarding ceremony was held at the historical university chapel. Only the selected alumni, research scholars and university administration attended this ceremony.

Dr. Nishtar was awarded by her degree personally in London. In a talk to media, she said she is honored to receive this degree.

Dr. Nishtar is the special assistant of PM of Pakistan & Federal Minister, Poverty Easing and Social Protection. She also chairs the Benazir Income Support Program, Pakistan’s biggest safety institution, and the government of Pakistan’s Council on Poverty Alleviation. Dr. Nishtar is also the co-chair of WHO.

She has received many international awards for her work and is widely published. Sania Nishtar graduated from KMU as the best graduate in 1986. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & took a Ph.D. at Kings College London.

Chairman of London, Rt. Hon Lord Geidt said: “Respected degree is awarded to those who have notable merit and highest award.”

Muhammad Nafees Zakaria, Pakistan high commissioner to UK commended Sania Nishtar on the respected prize. He said that she got this degree from a leading university in the UK because of her contribution to public health, poverty lessening, and social protection. He said: “It is a matter of pride for us.”

King’s College London is a public research university located in London, UK. King is classified in the top 10 universities in the UK.
