Pakistan’s women cricket team captain Bismah Maroof was the first Pakistani woman cricketer who scored 2000 runs in T20 international of women. 28-year old cricketer accomplished her target during her 29-ball-34 in the first T20 against Bangladesh women team.
She is the first Pakistani female cricketer who reached this target. She is on number third in Asia after two Indian cricketers Mithali Raj and Harmanreet Kaur. Bismah secured 8th place after scoring 2023 runs in 95 innings. New Zealand cricketer Suzie Bates secure the highest place in this list.
The most interesting fact is that Bismah is the second cricketer among both male and female cricketer who score 2000 runs in T20 after Shoaib Malik. Malik has scored 2251 runs in 103 T20Is for Pakistan.
Bismah Maroof join Pakistan team as a 15-year-old and didn’t take long to prove herself as a regular. She has grown into a reliable batsman with the passage of time who can hold an innings together. After the Women’s World T20 in 2016, she took over from Sana Mir as captain of the T20 team.
