Mirtha Munoz is a 70-year old Bolivian woman. Several years earlier she started biking and adopted it as one of her passions. After her son passed away unexpectedly, Mirtha’s family and her psychologist encouraged her to opt biking as her passion. She said that “ He told me that the bike could help me get over my agony and helped me rebuild “
Mirtha took part in the 60km Bolivia sky race. It is one of the most extreme forms of bike racing contests. The road nearly 11,000 feet above and the road spirals are the most dangerous in the world. The main attractions of the roads are the lowland jungles, snow-capped peaks, rock slides, rain, fog, and sheer cliffs.
The race took place on Saturday and when Mirtha finished the race she said “ it is a vertical climb, you go up and up and there’s no rest”
Mirtha is also one of the organizers of this race, she says that she enjoys low key biking with her grandchildren more than racing competitions. She also said that she expects her oldest grandchildren who will now be 18 years old will follow her on her tracks.
