COLUMBIA: Rescue teams were called to a region of Maury County after a lady fell 75-100 feet while hiking.
The call came in around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday along Cheeks Bend close to the Duck River.
Authorities affirmed that two ladies were hiking in the zone when one of them dropped from a mountain.
Groups discovered her along the river bank and put her in an emergency vehicle. She died because of her wounds. Authorities have not yet released her name.
The region is a famous hiking trail, it was the most dangerous incident they’ve reacted to in at any rate 30 years said by the 911 Director Mark Gandee.
