Kenzie Wright Qualifies for the 2019 U.S. Women’s Amateur

University of Alabama ladies’ golfer Kenzie Wright qualified for the 2019 U.S. Ladies Amateur, which will be held Aug, 5-11 at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point.

Kenzie, a rising senior, carded a 1-under par 71 to acquire one of the seven programmed spots out of the Southlake, Texas, qualifier prior this month.

She said, “This was my first time to qualify for the ladies amateur and I’m super excited to be able to play”.

“I’ve been very close to qualifying the last couple of years, so it was great to finally get through. I’ve heard great things about the course, and I can’t wait to get out there. Being able to see my teammates playing in the semifinals and finals last year was wonderful so I’m hoping to follow in their footprints this year.

The McKinney, Texas, local will step up and provide veteran experience for the Crimson Tide in the 2019-20 season.

As she contended in every one of the 10 competitions this previous year.

Her best completion came at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational where she won second place overall.
