Karachi: Sindh Minister Launches ‘Aurat App’ to encourage women to take an active part against physical violence

Human violence is the main issue that is quoted everywhere nowadays. When we talk about abusing women, Pakistan is no more far away from this evil thing. Women are physically abused, raped and beaten to death and men think of them as a weak entity who cannot speak or take actions towards physical violence.

Yesterday: Minister for Women development Sindh, Syeda Shehla Raza said that Pakistani women should be empowered themselves economically to take action and to prevent physical violence in this era. An App named ‘Aurat App’ Web portal & Case & Referral Management Information System. She said Sindh department for Women development is working for the protection of women as 16 Women protection cells are working in the province in about 29 districts.

The minister for Women development said up till now many of the laws have been passed regarding women rights and their protection but some of the new laws are not implemented. For this purpose, we have started this mission and we are planning to initiate awareness campaigns against women’s problems so that they will be able to fight against physical violence. She makes sure at the launching ceremony of the App that the organization and stakeholders will do their best to make sure no violence accidents will take place

. Shehla Raza stated that the Sindh Women Development Department United Nations (UN) and other Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are working together to make things possible but there is further need for improvement in efforts. She counselled the media to inform the women and girls about the “Aurat App” as victim women could get the advantage of it.
