Facebook San Francisco: The social media giant has faced serious for the lack of diversity on the organization. But in the next five years, Facebook will double the number of female workers including black women and Hispanic women employee in the U.S.
The 2019th diversity report Facebook reported having people of more diversities, more colour, more background, more languages, and more experiences. Women are working both in the business and technology sector and many are represented as leaders.
“Most remarkably, we’ve attained advanced symbol of women in leadership by converging on hiring and growing female leaders within the company. Over the last several years, the majority of new female leaders were internally sponsored,” Maxine Williams, Global Chief Diversity Facebook.
Facebook has increased the number of black women by 25% and black men by 10% till now from 2014, a report stated.
“We’re proud to have earned 100% on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) 2019 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). This is the fifth year in a row that we have received the best score,” said the company.
Facebook said it invested $4.2 million in the “Align Programme” which increases the number of women and understated people chasing careers in computer science by providing students who did not study computer science with the opportunity to earn a master’s degree in computer science.
