CHENNAI: In an endeavor to get Rs 79 once again from a nourishment aggregator, a 21-year-elderly person was conned into paying Rs 40,000. Priya Agarwal had gone to Vadapalani on Wednesday.
“She had requested nourishment from an aggregator for Rs 79. A couple of minutes after the fact, the request was dropped.
A cop said, She made an endeavor to address the client care and scanned for the number on the web”. Thusly, she found a number and raised a protest.
“The man guaranteed to determine the issue on the off chance that she paid Rs 5,000 and asserted that the cash would be discounted. He guaranteed that it was hard to move Rs 79 as it was a limited quantity. Accepting this, she moved the cash yet did not get a discount.
A cop said, When she reached the number once more, the fraudster requested that her store another Rs 5,000. The lady was advised to continue sending Rs 5,000-portions till she wound up sending Rs 40,000. It was just when she didn’t get the cash and the number was turned off, that she understood she had been conned”.
